Lovely...
ReplyDeleteAwesome picture accompanied with a nice haiku. Thank you for sharing Karen.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but think of a couple in love walking hand-in-hand along the shores of the beach as I read the last line of your haiku.
ReplyDeleteThe sea is primal. Perhaps the heart was recognizing that.
ReplyDeletelove the way you add feelings with observations in your haiku..lovely indeed :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition....So pleasant to read :)
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice!:)
ReplyDeleteLike you, Karen, I escape to the ocean. Living in the Sonoran Desert, I find a week at the shore rejuvenating.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more (as you know now) :)
ReplyDeleteI can fully relate to that. Being by the sea, watching the waves crash against the shore makes my heart pound with delight too :-)

ReplyDeleteBeautifully expressed.
ReplyDeleteit's intangible and mysterious, but the connection between the heart and the sea has always seemed to me to be unquestioned.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Never thought of that before, but it is true, hearts do pound with delight at the sublime surf!
ReplyDeleteThere must be something exciting on the shore for a heart to pound. Exciting haiku!
ReplyDeleteHaving visited the ocean many times, and knowing that I will within the next month made my heart soar when I saw the photo. I read the haiku and the word 'thrilling' came into my head. I went back and read it again and saw that the word 'thrilling' wasn't in the haiku, but that is the word I thought of and how I felt looking at the ocean. It is just thrilling to me. Made my heart start pounding as I remember my visits to the sea. Wonderful post.
ReplyDeletePeace
