A New Disguise

In Need Of A New Disguise

preparing for the day
unsteady hands apply the camouflage for the face
though not deftly placed
obvious ailments are masked

if only the makeup could extend the length of the body
concealing the disabilities

that scream
she
is
a
sick
person

there is no hiding that

  2. I love the curve, thinness, and slowed reading of this:

    "that scream
    she
    is
    a
    sick
    person"

  3. This creates a very vivid snapshot--of an emotional response as well as physical. The last words seem to tumble out like someone's cut the end off a sandbag. Well said.

  7. This is an extremely powerful poem. The form creates impact and your conclusion hits us all where it hurts.

  9. Exceptional and sad take on the challenge. I too loved the format, it lent perfect character to the piece. Great work.
