Hope

photo credit © Laura Hegfield 2012

darkness surrounds me
overcome by the blackness
i recognise fear

forever present
prowling amidst pale shadows
gloom hangs overhead

i reach out beyond
straining to grasp light above
  glimmers of hope float

Haiku Sequence, a number of haiku grouped together continuing one thought, for combined impact. Though a continuation of thought, each haiku should be able to stand alone.

Rebirth

soft wind blow through me
gently lift my spirit high
soar beyond the clouds

in the up draught float
hovering above the realm
lofty dreams advance

hope wafts in the breeze
caresses the soul’s shadows
promising rebirth
