- pen a poem based on any work of Tim Burton
stabbing, stinging, prickling skin
stick more pins and needles in
from my royal throne I reign
this my kingdom full of pain
odd sensations I cannot quell
odd sensations I cannot quell
but here I rule in private hell
I am the queen of paraesthesia
I am the queen of paraesthesia
so doctor please, some anaesthesia

I surfed over from your link on the Poets United Think Tank Thursday. Perfectly eccentric take on the prompt! Great poem!
ReplyDeleteExcellently done, with tongue in cheek. With all that you go through, you have managed to keep your sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely delighted by your poem for this prompt.Excellent choice!!
I am actually suffering in a dreadful way, with paraesthesia, although in recent weeks some new medication has helped.
I truly understand the concept of 'pins and needles.'

Nicely done, Karen, but I wish you were the Queen of something else.

I love your take on the prompt :D
You amaze me, but then you always have. To be able to turn your horrible circumstance into verse, with a little touch of humour - brilliant.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, know this little beast well. Too well.
ReplyDeleteI hope your renewed presence here means you are feeling at least a little better.
Ouch, I can't stand needles but your post is a creative take on the prompt ~ Well done ~
