The Mag -124

I’ve set down anchor
in the sea I find myself in.
Not the one,
I would have sailed
by choice.

It’s the wind
that blew me here.
My course altered
from navigation
carefully plotted.

Tossed into the deep
I am surfacing,
to merely float in place.

White flag surrender.

  10. Sometimes we do chose the wrong path, don't we? I hope this is one the 'surrender' can somehow put right for this person.
    Lovely (but sad) imagery.

  14. The wind can carry us out far, where we didn't plan to go. But still to float in peace is the best recourse ~

  16. This picture is fabulous: an essential Ophelia, and I think your words have done it justice: not a single one is wasted but the pervasive mood of melancholy is keenly felt. I really enjoyed this.

However we planned things may not go according to what was planned. True enough.
    Nice write Karen!

  21. No matter how carefuly we plot our course, the sea tends to be rough. Why is that? Nice poem and oh so true.

  24. Karen,

There is something very peaceful in your words, even though Ophelia was drifting off course. Perhaps to a better location!!!
