Scent

crystal droplets cling
scents taken by the updraft

The Mag - 121/OSI 224

Still Life, 1670, detail by Jean François de Le Motte
a small treasure found
tucked away
among the debris
of what once was
shinning brightly...
beckoning
longing to be remembered...
and loved once again

Paraesthesia

For the 100th prompt @ Think Tank Thursday- eccentric.
- pen a poem based on any work of Tim Burton

stabbing, stinging, prickling skin
stick more pins and needles in

from my royal throne I reign
this my kingdom full of pain

odd sensations I cannot quell
but here I rule in private hell

I am the queen of paraesthesia
so doctor please, some anaesthesia

*Paraesthesia is the term used to describe odd skin sensations that are a result of damaged sensory nerves. The sensations felt are usually tingling, burning, stabbing, pricking, crawling, and are often extremely painful and permanent.
