A Kiss From *Beep (small stone 31)

sweet girl
smacks a big sloppy kiss
on my cheek
as her arms circle my neck

a sticky residue remains
to mark the spot
where love is planted

candy kisses

*Beep is my granddaughter

Today is the last for writing small stones. When I took up the challenge at the start of the month, I wasn't sure if I would be able to complete it. Well, here we are the end of the month and I am happy to say that I did!

For me this exercise has opened up a new avenue for expression. My love of photography has allowed me to capture small moments in time that have spoken to me on some level. Writing has now afforded me the chance to elaborate on many more of those moments, photographed or not.

Thanks to all who have followed me on this journey, supported me, and encouraged me along the way.

To all of those who tossed their stones in the river along side mine, I say a heartfelt Bravo! We did it!
I am participating in The River Of Stones.
by writing a small stone every day for the month of January.
A *small stone is a very short piece of writing that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment.

Champagne (small stone 30)

sparkling effervescence
reflecting glittering light
emitting bubbles
that tingle on the tip of my nose
as I sip
another glass please, garcon
as this nectar delights me
and is sure to tickle my fancy

in crimson it screams
this warning must be heeded
poison lurks within

Silhouette

Haiku #1 "Twilight"
‘tis now the gloaming
branches stand in silhouette
sombre fears embraced

Haiku #2 "MS"
synapse signals cut
lurking in shadowed contours
the beast stalks it’s prey

The prompt for this week's Haiku Wednesday is "silhouette". The haiku needs to be related to it, or include the actual word in it

a small treasure found

tucked away
among the debris of what once was

shinning brightly...beckoning
longing to be remembered
and loved once again
